Helena Knos
Helena Knos was born in a family where her father was an artist working in oil and watercolour media. Helena has taken numerous art courses, some at the University of Alberta with great teachers like Jerry Heine and Jim Davis, and in the last few years with Donna-Jo Massie and Mike Svob. The Group of Seven and Tony Couch are her great influences where her art is concerned.
After traveling in France and living in South Africa, Helena and her husband moved in 1999 to Canmore. Since then her art became her priority. In her many days of hiking, Helena sees ever changing beauty of Rocky Mountains and the Alberta prairies, which inspires her to capture it on paper or canvas. If possible she sketches or paint on location.
Helena became member of the Canmore Artists and Artisans Guild the same year she moved to Canmore. She participates in CAAG group Exhibitions in Gallery and in the General Hospital Art Gallery. Her art is also displayed in Edmonton and Vancouver.
Her paintings can be found in private homes in Alberta, BC , USA, Germany, Denmark and Czech Republic.
