Lucie Bause
Lucie Bause was born and raised in Stratford, Ontario Canada. She holds a B.A. Honours Degree in English and Spanish Literature from Trent University. She spent one year studying at the Universidad de Granada in Southern Spain. She has traveled extensively and has a particular affinity with Central America. Her artwork is influenced by both Canadian and Latin American art, literature and culture. Lucie has been a summer resident of the Bow Valley since 1989, and a Canmore-based visual artist since 2002.
Inspired by outdoor adventure, Lucie explores the natural environment and her relationship to it in her artwork. Her work is intuitive and thoughtful, sharing essence of place and spirit of landscape, and inspiring a connection with nature.
Lucie has attended various art workshops, including painting workshops with Mike Svob and Dominik Modlinski. She has also attended a creative workshop in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and a welding workshop at Red Deer College. Presently, Lucie is taking courses at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. Lucie's artwork can be found in private and Corporate collections in Canada and the US.
