Banff Hot Springs

In 1884, as the construction of the cross-Canada railway was steaming steadily ahead, Canadian Pacific Railway workers William McCardell and Frank McCabe discovered the Banff’s Upper Hot Springs – waters that until then were known only to the Stoney Indians. These were sacred waters of the Stoney, infused with what they believed were healing properties.

Now, against a backdrop of spectacular alpine scenery, luxuriate in soothing hot springs where travellers have come to “take the waters” for more than a century. Open year round, Banff Hot Springs is a historic spa with an outdoor spring-fed hot pool and restored 1930s heritage bathhouse – all with a breathtaking view of famous Mount Rundle.
